Simina Popescu (they/them) is a queer illustrator, graphic novelist and performance arts journalist. Their debut YA graphic novel, LEAP, came out in 2024 under Macmillan US.

They studied visual arts their whole life, and they have a degree in Graphic Communication Design from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. Simina is from (and currently based) in Bucharest, Romania, where they live with a spazzy cat named Frankie.
They're passionate about queer representation in new media and collaborates with non-profits and journalistic publications as an illustrator and as a writer on topics like domestic violence, women and BIPOC rights and mental health.
